PlasmaLift/ Fibroblast, is the new revolutionary non surgical skin tightening and lift treatment that is both highly effective, and a remarkable alternative to invasive surgery.
Just some of the conditions well treated by PlasmaLift include:
- upper and lower eyelid lift and tightening
- crows feet
- facial wrinkle reduction
- neck tightening
- reduction of the upper lip wrinkles
- stretch marks and scars.
During the procedure a tiny plasma flash also referred as an electrical arc is discharged from the tip of the Fibroblast pen. The tool itself never touches the skin – however the plasma flash creates a tiny carbon dot at the point of contact with the skin. There is no bruising, no cut, no blood. This innovative technology uses sublimation process, turning solid directly to gas to tighten skin tissue. Tiny points of targeted superficial skin tissue is vaporised, causing no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers.
Further points are applied creating a symmetrical grid or matrix over the treatment area. Effects are noticeable right away. Full results become visible after 2-4 weeks. Patient can resume regular activities right away with minimal discomfort. PlasmaLift is virtually painless and doesn’t require anaesthesia. Numbing cream is used to minimise any discomfort during procedure. Side effects are minimal and complications rare. Carbon crusts, tiny superficial dots which form directly on the skin are part of normal healing process and will cause no threat and fall off 5-7 days after treatment. After-care instructions will be given to a patient following the procedure. It is very important to adhere to after-care advice.
Face-to-face consultation is required. Your specialist will asses the best treatment plan. Possible conditions jeopardising safe and effective procedure will be discussed. One treatment may be sufficient. This depends on treated area size and clients expected
degree of correction. Additional procedure may be performed 6-8 weeks after the first one. We strongly advise to follow our after care guidelines to minimise discomfort and ensure quick healing.
Q & A
What is PlasmaLift treatment?
The PlasmaLift treatment is a non-surgical lift procedure giving the same and comparable results as traditional skin tightening surgery. It is safe and bloodless, without the need for anaesthesia. Fibroblast is virtually painless with anaesthetic cream applied locally prior to
treatment. This innovative technique will not cause over-lifting. Only the excess skin is affected during the procedure. Patients are able to notice results right away although it takes 2-4 weeks for full effect to be visible. The procedure may only be performed by the certified specialist.
How does the plasma lift/ fibroblast work?
Fibroblast device uses plasma, an ionised gas between the tip of the Fibroblast tool and patients skin. During the procedure an electric arc forms, referred to as a plasma flash or mini lightning bolt. Only the surface of the skin is touched by the arc causing surface tissue to vaporise and contract. This is known as sublimation, the process of turning solid directly to gas. Targeted tissue sublimates, therefore there is no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. Patients can resume regular activities right away with minimal discomfort.
Is consultation required?
Yes. Anyone interested in the PlasmaLift procedure is required to have face-to-face consultation. Careful assessment by your specialist will ensure right treatment plan. Multiple factors affect the ageing process. Each person and treated area is different and needs to be determined individually. Our goal is to keep clients informed and meet their expectations.
How is the treatment performed?
When activated, the tool creates plasma flash which travels from the tool’s tip to treated area. The tool itself never touches the skin however plasma flash creates a tiny dot upon the contact. Further points are applied creating a symmetrical grid or matrix over the
treatment area. This in effect causes tightening of skin fibres. Only the surface of the skin is affected and deeper layer known as the basal lamina is not. The treatment is noninvasive, no cuts to the skin or stitching is necessary. The treatment is completely bloodless and without unnecessary damages to surrounding tissues.
How long is the procedure?
To minimise any discomfort numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area. It will take 30 minutes for aesthetic to take effect. The procedure itself takes between 15-30 minutes depending on the size of treated area. Your appointment shouldn’t last longer then 1 hour.
Does the treatment hurt?
PlasmaLift is a non-surgical treatment with no pain or minimal discomfort reported by patients. Topical cream is applied to numb treated area prior to procedure. Immediately after the treatment the skin will be reddened and lightly swollen. This will usually last up to 3 days, although slight redness may remain for up to 2 weeks. During the procedure carbon crusts will form on the skin directly where Fibroblast tool was applied. Crusts should not be touched for 5-7 days however post-procedure foundation can be used to camouflage them.
Are there any side effects after the treatment?
PlasmaLift/ FibroBlast is very safe and side-effects are rare – but infection, scarring and temporary change of skin pigmentation may occur. Carbon crusts, a tiny superficial dots which form directly on the skin are part of normal healing process and when correctly
treated with after-cream will cause no threat and fall off 5-7 days after treatment. Mild swelling is expected during first 3 days and usually entirely gone by day 5. Majority of our patients do not report any of those after a week.
Are there any specific aftercare recommendations?
Yes. It is very important to follow our after care recommendations. Carbon crusts CANNOT be scratched or removed. The treated area MUST BE KEPT CLEAN AND DRY. Drying skin by dabbing with a clean, lint-free cloth is allowed. Aftercare balm may be reapplied to the area should it be required. Healing skin should be protected from direct sun with SPF50 cream. Sports, swimming and sauna are not permitted until crusts fall off. This should happen within 7 days of procedure.
Should I watch for any unusual complications?
While the treatment itself is very safe, in some rare occasions complications may occur. Please inform your specialist immediately in case of any unusual symptoms. This may include signs of infection such as excessive redness, pus, blistering or thick, yellow crust forming in treatment area.
Can I use cosmetics after the procedure?
The treated skin area will be covered with carbon crusts which form during the treatment. They should not be rubbed off therefore it is necessary to avoid any wet, paste or liquid product for 5-7 days. This is when usually crusts fall off. In addition patients need to avoid all direct heat sources such as sun, UV radiation, saunas etc for the period of at least 4 weeks. Dry powder Mineral makeup may be used.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
There are no specific requirements before the treatment. We suggest not to apply any cosmetics before the procedure. You should tell your practitioner about any recent medical conditions and medications taken. Mention any surgeries or aesthetic procedures performed currently on your skin. Avoid tanning and alcohol for two weeks before treatment.
Are the full effects of the fibroblast procedure visible straight away?
Most patients should notice the effect of the procedure right away. However the healing will continue and the full result should be visible within 2-4 weeks. In cases where patients want a more discernible result (WOW FACTOR) we advise three treatments 6-8 weeks apart. these results last up top 5 years. This does depend however on the treatment area, skin condition as well as patient’s expectations.
How many treatments are required?
In some cases one treatment may be sufficient, especially with lighter subtle corrections. Many of the treatments will depend on a size of the treated area and customer’s desired degree of correction. Full effect of the first treatment will be visible after 2-4 weeks following the procedure. If patient requires additional treatment to achieve optimal results those should be scheduled at 6 to 8 weeks intervals. Effectiveness of the non-surgical lift is comparable to traditional techniques. In order to evaluate number of required procedures and choosing best treatment plan face-to-face consultation is required.
How long the effect of the treatment will last?
The treatment should last long term rather then few months although it is hard to predicted exactly. Ageing is dynamic process and there are many factors affecting patients individually. Lifestyle, diet and genetics just to mention few. As of today permanent results are not possible, just as with surgery, following the procedure your skin will be a subject to normal ageing. Your skin will continue to relax (loosen) again. In some rare situations ageing may be accelerated and effectiveness of the treatment would be shortened. Your technician will discuss those conditions, so patients have better understanding of what to expect.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes, it is. PlasmaLift or Fibroblast is an innovative state of the are product made in Germany. It is certified by European CE. This means the product device meets high safety, health and environmental protection requirements. The treatment is already extremely popular across Europe. It quickly becomes choice for those looking into a nonsurgical skin lift. Only technicians with specialised training holding Certification are authorised and insured to perform treatments. You will be asked by your technician to fill in and sign consent. Any potential effects will be carefully explained.
